MSE-Forks sponsors rally car in the Middle East
 IAN and Sheila Barker are looking to improve on their debut result in the January Umm Al Quwain cross-country rally.
“We had a problem on the final stage (in UAQ), but we ended up with the winners trophies for the National Class, and 10th position overall,” Ian told emafuae.com ahead of the 1000 Dunes Prologue on March 13. “It was a steep learning curve, but we are better prepared this time. The 1000 Dunes is always a tough rally, and we have to balance outright speed with the need to keep the car in one piece,” he added.
This time out, their Nissan Patrol 4800 will sport a new livery. Team Barker has won sponsorship from two engineering companies, both represented in the Gulf by Al Thika Packaging LLC. Principal sponsor, Meijer Special Equipment of the Netherlands, is a specialist manufacturer of forklift attachments. Their range includes Kooi telescopic forks and the unique RollerForks, designed to handle both pallets and unpalletised loads. Italian support sponsor, Robopac, is the world’s leading producer of pallet stretch wrapping systems, according to Ian.
