MSE-Forks starts Baidu internet campaign
Sint-Jacobiparochie (NL) – MSE-Forks, known for their KOOI-ReachForks® and RollerForks®, will be targeting the Chinese online market starting 01 July. The pallet-handling specialist has had an advertising campaign set up for the Chinese search engine Baidu because use of Google™ is becoming increasingly restricted in China.
Baidu advertising campaign
China is the largest online market in the world, but also one of the most difficult to penetrate. In contrast to the rest of the world where Google™ is a principle gateway, use of the search engine is becoming increasing restricted by the Chinese government. Baidu is the Chinese equivalent of the US search engine and is used by 400 million internet users. 'Baidu is mainly used by the new generation of managers and students. These people are the decision makers of the future, which is why we think it's important that they can find us easily,' explains Folkert de Graaf, Sales & Marketing Manager at MSE-Forks.
For the past six months, the online marketing agency ClickQ has been working on and implementing the Chinese campaign. As of 01 July this year, MSE-Forks can be found via Baidu. 'We'll be able to compare initial results at the end of this month, as we'll also be continuing to use Google™. We secretly anticipate better results using Baidu.'
Growth Market in China
The Chinese market is extremely important for the manufacturer due to the enormous volumes of goods that are exported from China to the rest of the world. 'If we could persuade the Chinese to load their containers using slipsheets, then customers would also have to switch to using our products,' reasons Folkert de Graaf. 'Together with our importer, Vita-Wheel, we've invested a lot to promote our products. We've been focusing on reaching Chinese customers via the internet, while our Chinese dealer has been trying to reach local customers by means of direct mail and telemarketing. If a customer is interested in any of our products, then our dealer has a dozen or so RollerForks for demonstration purposes.'
