MSE-Forks successfully challenges Chinese ROLLERFORKS®
It is well known that Chinese companies copy Western products, even those that have been patented. Prosecuting these companies is not easy, but that seems about to change. Such copying practices are not particularly beneficial to the Chinese government, which has been making more and more advances towards Western companies and has a financial interest in conducting business in a legal manner. In a joint effort MSE-Forks and Arnold & Siedsma (a law firm specialised in the legal protection of intellectual property rights) have successfully ensured the withdrawal from the market of a Chinese company copying the ROLLERFORKS®. ROLLERFORKS® has also been patented in China and the product has been successfully marketed in that country by MSE-Forks importer Vita-Wheel. This most likely drew the attention of the company in question, which probably thought that it could comfortably enjoy a slice of the pie. In fact the company had the audacity to approach various MSE Forks importers and offer them the concept under a different name. To top it all, they even sent photographs that had been taken straight from the MSE-Forks brochure. In a coordinated effort the MSE-Forks importers were able to gather the evidence needed for Arnold & Siedsma to deal firmly with the company in question.
